Mireille Harper is an editor at Square Peg, Vintage (Penguin Random House UK). After internships at PackT, Penguin Random House Children’s and Eventful Publishing Co., Mireille joined Hachette UK on its 12-month Fresh Chapters traineeship programme working in editorial at Trapeze (Orion Publishing Group), where she won the Harry Barker Prize, before going on to spend six months in marketing at Hodder Education. She then joined Octopus Publishing Group as an editorial assistant for a year on the Cassell, Hamlyn and Monoray lists, before moving to Square Peg (Vintage) in November 2019 where she currently works. Outside of her role, Mireille works as a freelance writer, sensitivity reader and PR and comms consultant working with grassroots arts and culture organisations, black-owned businesses and black creatives. Mireille also mentors students looking to get into the publishing industry and offers editorial advice to aspiring writers.
