About Us

Welcome to BAE’s website

BAE is a community for agents and editors of African descent working in UK book publishing. We are also running a mentoring programme for Black people interested in finding out more about the book world. This is a chance to discuss all things publishing: from how to apply for a publishing job, to what it means to be an agent or editor, and how books are made.

If either of these two things is of interest, keep reading!

MEMBERSHIP: If you are currently working in agenting or editorial and would like to join us as a member of BAE, please fill in this form: https://forms.gle/Hu3amhiq7ePjWguBA

MENTORSHIP: If you aren’t working in publishing but are interested in learning more about how it works, please fill in this form: https://forms.gle/HaNmVXLV8vVjtFbi9
Before scheduling a meeting, we highly recommend reading this resource to get better acquainted with industry roles: https://www.hoddereducation.co.uk/media/Documents/Careers/Guide-to-Publishing-Booklet.pdf

We look forward to hearing from you and will get back to you as soon as possible.
