Before joining Bookouture, an imprint of Hachette UK, Leodora had the pleasure of completing a Creative Writing MA and running a successful writing blog, both of which have given her an extra dose of empathy for the writers she works with. In her current role as a Publishing Executive, she has worked on the titling, packaging, copywriting and editing of chart-topping commercial fiction from long-standing Bookouture authors. She has also commissioned and published best-selling fiction from new authors. She specialises in crime and thrillers but has a soft spot for women’s fiction and historical fiction.
Leodora is also the founder of Owned Voices, an organisation with the aim of helping nurture the talent of under-represented writers and demystifying the way the publishing industry works. It is important to Leodora to provide a dedicated space and time for these writers in which they can think critically about their writing, find peers with whom they can share and discuss work, and have the routes into getting work published clarified by professionals who work within the industry.
